Virtual Printer – What’s It All About?
A virtual printer mimics the printing process by using the software. So basically, the virtual printer creates a copy that is much like a printed document without any piece of paper involved. The digital document can easily be shared within departments or perhaps through email.
Here’s how you can use a virtual printer.
Add a Virtual Printer
- Log in to an account with administrator access.
- Get logged in to the Web Image Monitor. Be sure to use the administrator access with the appropriate login username and password. You’ll find it in the Network and System Settings Guide.
- In the menu option, you will find the Configuration button. Click on that button.
- In the Printer Category, choose the Virtual Printer Settings. You’ll find options of virtual printers available by clicking the Add button.
- After selecting a Virtual Printer Name, add the name of the new printer, choose the protocol in the given Protocol list.
- Click the OK button, and the virtual printer is now in your system.
Change a Virtual Printer Configuration
- Access the Web Image Monitor by using administrator access.
- In the menu, you will find the Configuration button. Click on that button as well as the Virtual Printer Settings button located in the Printer Category.
- Once a list of available virtual printers appears, choose a virtual printer configuration you want to change. Click on the Change button.
- Change the virtual printer configuration as needed by clicking the OK button.
Confirm a Virtual Printer
- Begin with Web Image Monitor.
- In the menu option, you will find the Configuration button, click on it.
- In the Printer Category, choose the Virtual Printer Settings, and you will find a list of virtual printers available.
- Confirm the virtual printer you want to configure then click the Details button.
Delete a Virtual Printer
- Access the Web Image Monitor by using administrator access.
- In the menu option, you’ll find the Configuration button then click on it.
- In the Printer category, you’ll find the Virtual Printer settings then click on it.
- Choose the virtual printer you want to remove by clicking the Delete button.
- Once you see the delete confirmation, click the OK button.
Print Using A Virtual Printer
- Access the Web Image monitor using administrator access.
- In the menu option, you’ll find the Configuration button, click on it.
- Choose the Printer Basic Settings option which you’ll find in the Printer Category.
- Choose the Active button located in the Virtual Printer. Hit the OK button.
- Type in command from your PC.
