Method 1: Perform a system file check

Step 1: First, you have to open the Command Prompt on your computer. For this, you have to press Windows Key + X to open a menu. There, you have to select Command Prompt (Admin) from the list. If you can’t find the option, you can choose  PowerShell(Admin).

Step 2: Once the command prompt opens, you have to type SFC/ scannow in the command line and press Enter.

Step 3: Finally, you have to wait to complete the process and then check the error again.

If There Is Trouble Running the Sfc Scan, You Can Perform a Dism Scan to Solve the Issue. for This, Follow the Steps Below

Step 1: First, you have to open the command prompt as an administrator on your computer.

Step 2: Then, you have to type the following command in the command line and then press Enter.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth 

Step 3: The DISM scan will take around 20 minutes and you have to wait until the process is completed. Then, check the error again.

Method 2: Use a System Restore Point

Step 1: First, you have to open the system restore on your computer. For this, you have to press Windows Key + S and enter system restore.  Or, you can simply search for it, and from the results, you have to choose to Create a restore point from the menu.

Step 2: Once the system properties window opens, you have to click on System Restore. You will find it at the top of the window.


Step 3: Now, the System Restore window will appear. There, you have to click Next at the bottom.


Step 4: Next, you have to make sure that the Show more restore points options are checked. You have to select the desired restore point and click Next.


Step 5: Finally, you have to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process. And check the issue again. When the system is restored, the problem will be fixed.

If You Find There No Restore Points Available, You Have to Follow the Steps Below

Step 1: First, you have to go to the Control Panel.

Step 2: There, you have to select Recovery and then, you have to go to Configure System Restore.

Step 3: Now, you have to select Configure and turn system protection on to enable this option.

Method 3: Disable Reagent

You can temporarily disable reagents to fix the error. For this, follow the steps below:

Step 1: First, you have to open the Command Prompt on your computer. You have to start the command prompt as administrator.

Step 2: Once the command prompt opens, you have to type the following commands in the command line and press Enter after each command.

  • reagentc /disable
  • reagentc /enable

Step 3: Finally, you have to reset your pc and check the error is still there or not.

Method 3: Rename the System and Software Registry Hive

Step 1: First, you have to open the Command prompt on your computer. You have to start the command prompt as administrator.

Step 2: Once the command prompt window appears, type the command below in the command line:

cd %windir%\system32\config .

After typing this, you have to press ENTER.

Step 3: Then, you have to type ren system system.001 in the command line and press ENTER.

Step 4: After executing the second command, you have to type ren software software.001 in the command line and press Enter.

Step 5: Finally, you have to type exit to close the command prompt. Then, you have to restart your PC and test the error message now.

Method 4: Run the Startup Repair

Step 1: First, you need a bootable USB drive with a windows 10 installer. You have to insert the USB or DVD/ CD into your PC and restart your computer.

Step 2: Once the computer starts to boot from the USB or DVD, you have to choose Troubleshoot

Step 3: Now, you have to click on Advanced Options. You will find it at the top of the window.

Step 4: Next, you have to click on Startup Repair.

Step 5: After that, you have to select your account and type your account password.

Step 6: You have to click on Continue to start the repairing process. This tool will automatically find, scan, and repair all the issues with your Windows 10 software.

Step 7: Finally, you have to wait to complete the operation and then, restart your computer and check if the error is still occurring or not.

Method 5: Refresh Windows from Windows Defender

Step 1: First, you have to open the Settings on your computer. For this, you have to press Windows + I keys on your keyboard, and from the menu, you have to select the settings.

Step 2: Once the settings window appears, you have to click on Update & Security from the window.

Step 3: Now, you have to click on the Windows Security option. You will find it on the left-side menu. You can find it as Windows Defender in the other windows versions.

Step 4: Next, you have to click on the Open Windows Security button. You may find the option as  Open Windows Defender Security Center there.

Step 5: After that, you have to choose the Device performance & health option. You may have to scroll down to find it.

Step 6: Then, you have to click on the Additional Information link. You may find this link under the Fresh start section.

Step 7: Finally, you have to click on Get Started. You have to follow the on-screen instructions to refresh your computer.

Method 6: Clean Install Windows with Media Creation Tool

Step 1: First, you have to click the following link. It will create an installation media for Windows with Media Creation Tool.

Step 2: Then, you have to insert the installation media which you have created and after this, you have to restart your PC.

Step 3: You have to select Repair your computer on the Install Windows screen.

Step 4: Now, you have to select Troubleshoot from the Choose an option screen. You have to use Safe Mode.

Step 5: Next, you have to select Advanced Options and from there, you have to choose Reset This PC.

Step 6: Finally, you have to select Remove everything during resetting this PC.
