How to Find Stored Password on Computer

Nowadays people use so many platforms of online daily. They have personal accounts on various social media or other work-related platforms. But they need to keep their security strong on these platforms as online crimes have been increasing so much. So they use unique and strong passwords to keep their accounts safe. As they have so many accounts and so many passwords online, they tend to forget them frequently. For this reason, their passwords can be saved in various places on the computer. But they need to know the process of recovering these passwords from the computer. In each place the recovery process is different.

Methods to View Saved Passwords on PC

The password of your accounts can be saved anywhere on your PC such as Computer settings, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc. The process of recovering password in each place are given below.

Find Password on Microsoft Edge

  1. At first you have to open Microsoft Edge on your PC.
  2. Then in home page on right corner you have to click on the three dots which is settings.
  3. Then you have to find view Advance Settings and select it.
  4. You have to go to Privacy and services. 
  5. Here you have to click on Manage my saved password.
  6. Then you can view the password of any account you want.

Find Password by Using Credentials Manager

  1. A first you have to go to Start menu and search Control Panel.
  2. Then you have to click on Control Panel.
  1. You have to select Users Account.
  1. Then you will find Credential Manager. You have to click on it.
  1. There will be two sections. They are web and windows credentials
  2. You have to select the one you want to see.
  1. In password section you have to click on Show to view the password.

Find Password on Google Chrome

  1. At first you have to open Google Chrome on your device.
  2. Then you have to select the profile of yours.
  3. Here you will find Password option which has a key symbol on it. You have to click on it.
  1. Then you can click on the eye symbol beside the password you want to see.

Find Password on Command Prompt

  1. At first you have to go to Start and type Command Prompt on search bx.
  2. When Command Prompt will appear you have to select it.
  3. Then you have to click on Run as administrator option.
  4. A pop up window will be opened to take the permission to open it. You can click on Yes in it.
  5. Then Command Prompt will be opened.
  6.  You have to type the commands 

rundll32.exe Keymer.dll, KRShowKeyMgr on the screen.

  1. Then you have to tap Enter.
  2. You can see the stores passwords.

Conclusion

There are various accounts that you open or login into your device. Each account can have a different password for privacy purposes. It can be difficult sometimes to remember these passwords. You can save them on your computer and also can recover them when you need them. This article explains the methods to find this stored password on a PC easily.
