People are dependent on the internet so much. One of the main advantages of the internet is the export and import of any kind of information or document from one place to another in a moment. It makes our life so much easier. There are several media to share files information or files online. They are Gmail, Outlook, and other online media. There are many options to get it done. But these platforms have a limited size limit to send a file. Sometimes we need to send many files in one email. Because of the limitation, it becomes difficult to send it. That’s where zips are used. 

What is Zip File?

The zip file is one of the most helpful file formats when we share files. It can contain several files in one file and compress the size. But it does not lose any kind of data, the format in the compressing process. The method for the zip files is also easy. It can save the memory of your device and also help in sharing process online.

Method to Zip Files for Email

The method to zip files for email is really easy. The steps are described below.

On Windows

  1. On your device at first you have to open the application that stores or collects all the files.
  2. Then you have to find all the files you want to zip for the email.
  3. You have to tap CTRL and at the same the files click on the files you want to zip.
  4. After selecting all the files you have to right click on the file.
  5. A drop down menu will be appeared. You have to select Send to from the menu.
  6. Another menu will be shown. You have to select Compressed (zipped) folder from the menu.
  1. The files will be in a zip file. You can change the file name if you want.
  2. Then you have to email the file. You have to open the email application or you can open web browser and log in to your email address.
  3. Then you have to click on compose email.
  4. You have to click on Attach file option which is lower portion of the email window.
  1. Then you have to find the zipped file and select it.
  2. You can click on Open.
  3. You can type the email address whom you want to send the file to the To section.
  4. Then finally you can click on Send.

On Mac

  1. At first you have to open the application where all the files are.
  2. Then you can select the files at a same time and right click on it.
  3. A drop down menu will be appeared. You have to select ‘Compress’ from the menu.
  4. The files will be compressed in a zip file.
  5. You have to email the file. You have to open the email application or you can open web browser and log in to your email address.
  6. Then you have to click on compose email.
  7. You have to click on Attach file option which is lower portion of the email window.
  8. Then you have to find the zipped file and select it.
  9. You can click on Open.
  10. You can type the email address whom you want to send the file to the To section.
  11. Then finally you can click on Send to complete the process.
