What Does the Screen Resolution Mean?

Many people get confused with screen size and resolution. Display size is the diagonal length of the screen given in inches. The resolution indicates the number of pixels that can be displayed in the limit of display size. Or in other words, the pixels refer to the smallest size an image can have and each pixel have unique information and color.

All the tiny pixels together generate the large high definition picture that you see on screen. The resolution tells you how many pixels are there in the row (horizontally) and the column (Vertically). For example, 1366×768 pixel means there are 1,366 pixels in the row and 768 pixels in the column. High resolution features superior picture quality.
