Method 1: Check and Repair Hard Disk

Step 1: First, you have to download the EaseUS Partition Master on your computer. After downloading it, you have to install the software by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 2: Then, you have to locate the disk which one you want to check and you have to choose “Check File System” from the menu.

 Step 3: Now, the Check File System window will appear. There, you have to make sure that the box next to the “Try to fix errors if found” option is checked and then, click “Start”.

Step 4: After clicking on start, the software will automatically start checking the partition file system on your disk. You have to wait to finish the process. After that, you have to click “Finish”.

Method 2: Run Chdkdsk

Step 1: First, you have to open the command prompt on your computer. Go to the search engine and type cmd there. Then, press Enter. From the results, choose the command prompt.

Step 2: You have to right-click on the “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator” from the menu bar.

Step 3: Now, in the command line, you have to type the following command:

 chkdsk E: /f /r 

Here, E will be replaced with the drive you want to check.

Method 3: Run DISM Command

Step 1: First, you have to open the Run dialog box. You have to press Windows key + R altogether to open up a Run dialog box.

Step 2: In the run window, you have to type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Command Prompt. You have to open it with Run as Administrator.

Step 3: Once the command prompt opens, you have to type the following command in the command line. You have to press Enter after each one.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If you are in the repair mode, you have to type the following:

Step 4: Finally, you have to wait to finish the process. Then, restart your computer and test the error. just like you do fix the error code 80070490.

Method 4: Run an SFC/DISM Scan in Safe Mode

Step 1: First, you have to open the Run on your computer. You have to press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

Step 2: Then, you have to type MSConfig in the search box and press Enter. It will open the System Configuration screen.

Step 3: Now, you have to click on the “General” tab at the top and select the “Selective startup“. In this section, you have to uncheck the “Load Startup items” option.

Step 4: Next, you have to switch to Services from General. There, you have to check the box next to the “Hide all Microsoft services“. Then, click on the “Disable all” button.

Step 6: When the computer restarts, you have to open the command prompt again. Then, you have to type the following command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Method 5: Perform SFC from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

Step 1: First, you have to boot from Windows installation DVD, or usb flash drive.

Step 2: Then, you have to choose “Repair Your Computer”.

Step 3: Now, you have to select the system you want to check.

Step 4: When you are in the recovery tool panel, you have to choose Command Prompt.

Step 5: Once you enter the command prompt window, you have to type SFC scan now and press Enter.

Method 6: Check CBS.log File Manually

Step 1: First, you have to go to the File Explorer.

Step 2: Once you open it, you have to type C:\Windows\Logs\CBS in the search bar and press Enter. It will open the CBS.log file.

Step 3: Now, you have to double-click the file to open the file content. You have to open Corrupt. You have to press the Ctrl+ F key to enter Corrupt and find the corrupted files.

Step 4: Finally, you have to type the query in the search engine to find the solution.

Step 1: First, you have to right-click on the CBS.log file and select Properties from the menu bar.

Step 2: Then, you have to click on the Security tab, and under this tab, you have to go to the Advanced.

Step 3: Now, you have to click Change under the owner button. Then, enter Everyone there.

Step 4: Next, you have to click on the Check names.

Step 5: Finally, you have to click Apply and then, Ok.

Method 7: Check and Repair Hard Drive Errors

Step 1: First, you have to download and install DiskGenius on your computer. You have to launch the software for free.

Step 2: Then, you have to select the hard drive of your device which contains the system partition you want to check.

Step 3: Now, you have to click on the Disk menu. There, you have to select the  Verify Or Repair Bad Sectors.

Step 1: First, you have to go to the search engine and type “restore” there. From the results, you have to choose “Create a restore point“.

Step 2: Then, the System Properties window will appear. You have to select the System Protection tab.

Step 3: Under the System Protection tab, you have to click on the System Restore button.

Step 5:  You have to select the restore point and then, click Next.

Step 7: Finally, you have to click Scan for affected programs button.
