Step 1: First, you have to open the command prompt. For this, you have to go to the search engine and type cmd, and press Enter. From the search results, you have to right-click on the command prompt and select Run as administrator from the menu bar.

Step 1: First, you have to open the control panel of your device. For this, you have to type the control panel in the search box and press Enter. From the results, you have to select the control panel.

Step 1: First, you have to open the Settings on your computer. For this, you have to click on the Start menu and choose Settings from the menu.

Step 2: Then, once you enter the Settings Window, you have to click on the Update & security option.

Method 6: Reset Windows Update Components

Step 1: First, you have to open the command prompt. You have to simply type cmd in the search engine and press Enter. From the results, you have to right-click on the Command prompt and choose Run as administrator from the menu.

Step 2: Then, once you open the command prompt, you have to type the following commands in the command line. You have to press Enter after typing each command. These commands will turn off the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, Cryptographic, MSI Installer, and the Windows Update Services.

Step 3: Now, you have to change the name of SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders. For this, you have to type the commands below in the command line. You have to press Enter after typing each command.

  • ren C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
  • ren C:\\Windows\\System32\\catroot2 Catroot2.old

Step 4: Now, you have to type the four commands below. This command will enable the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer, and Windows Update Services. Press Enter after each one.

  • net start wuauserv

  • net start bits
  • net start msiserver

Step 5: Finally, after executing the commands, you have to restart your computer and check if the error is solved or not.

Method 7: Disable Windows Firewall and Antivirus Software

Step 1: First, you have to open the Control panel of your computer. For this, you have to type Control Panel in the search engine and press Enter. From the results, you have to click on the Control panel.

Step 2: In the Control panel, you have to select the System and Security.

Step 5: Finally, you have to choose the Turn off Windows Firewall option. Then, you have to restart your PC.
