However, the two formats have some relative advantages and disadvantages. Hence, you may require converting one format into another. Microsoft Paint is a great and simple tool to convert a .bmp image to a .jpg image. Every Windows OS has ‘Paint’ by default. There is no need for an internet connection in using the tool. The conversion method is very easy; just follow the steps:

Step 1: Right-click on a .bmp image that you would want to convert. Find out the ‘Open with’ option where you will see ‘Paint’. Click on it to open the .bmp image with the Microsoft Paint tool.

Step 3: A separate window will pop up. You can give a different name to the file if you like to. Select the location of saving the file from the left of your screen. The ‘JPEG’ format contains all the other sub-formats (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe) of its class. Now, tap on the ‘Save’ button.

Step 6: Wait for a few seconds. The image should be converted to .jpg very quickly. A confirmation box will be shown up along with mentioning the file size of the converted .jpg image. Your task is completed. Find out the saved image from the local disk.
