Huawei has been unfazed by the challenges that it has faced in some markets around the world. The Chinese telecommunications giant has been dishing out some incredible devices of late. They have been an early adopter for many new technologies so much that the latest Huawei news is likely to contain groundbreaking updates. The company has been pressing the adoption of 5G networks around the world. They have also called for greater collaboration to realize this goal.

Many industries can benefit from 5G, with the Internet, social media, gaming, and entertainment areas receiving much attention. The cooperation amongst different sectors is needed for greater adoption of 5G technology.

Growth of 5G Network

The 5G network is the next generation of mobile technology, and it is seen as a significant leap from the 4G technology that is widely prevalent. 5G has provided a supercharger to the user experience in the few markets that it has been launched. Around 20 markets have adopted 5G, and this is a far cry from the vast potential out there. Around 40 networks are providing 5G technology, and this number is expected to grow to 60 by the end of the year. The best Huawei phone can be crucial in taking advantage of this growth.

One of the biggest markets for 5G networks is in South Korea, which also happens to be the first country that witnessed the launch on a commercial scale. A remarkable 3.5 million subscribers have come about in just six months of service. They have been able to take advantage of live 360° HD streaming support and Virtual Reality. All these factors have seen data consumption rise by as much as 1.3 GB every month. Apart from the added data consumption, more revenue streams have also for carriers, who have been going big when it comes to AR/VR services. The proportion of premium subscribers has hit 5.3% – from just 3.1% – in the first three months of launch.

Huawei & Barriers Faced

The spectrum is the biggest challenge faced by 5G networks in the insatiable desire for higher speed. It is not easy to get the range since its availability is not widespread. Even if it were to be available, the costs have so far been able to for many carriers. One of the changes that can be implemented to overcome this problem is the government is dropping spectrum prices or being more flexible with their pricing. Both these activities will lower the burden on carriers looking to start 5G services.

The challenges may only get bigger since more demand is expected over the next ten years. Even though Huawei security risk might have looked like creating a significant problem for this smartphone giant, they have been able to overcome the challenge with ease. Now, a Huawei smartphone company has been responsible for giving out several phones with 5G support. The number is expected to grow in the coming years.

Even though 5G is available for a range of applications, they are primarily centered on manufacturing, entertainment, and mobile broadband. It is time that they spread to other sectors.

Cooperation Amongst Sectors

The rapid growth made by 5G can be sustained only made cross-sector cooperation, according to Huawei Deputy Chairman Ken Hu. The support from the government sector is vital in popularising the new network. Since the cost is still prohibitively high, a plan has to be taken, with carriers being offered at least 6 GHz bands at an affordable price.

There have been signs of a noticeable change in regions like China. For example, the Shanghai city government has been able to set a lot of rigid standards when it comes to adding 5G sites. At least at the end of 2020, there will be a lot of poles along public roads – more than 500 km – to add 5G sites. It will increase the mobile base stations by 75% compared to the current situation.

Government ministries in Europe are trying to work together with carriers to identify 5G sites and bring along an infrastructure that will be able to reduce the cost. Infrastructure like bus stops, signposts, and traffic lights can be used to reduce the cost of 5G networks through infrastructure sharing.

Interestingly those who google Huawei news will be able to find a sizeable contribution from the Chinese telecommunications giant on this front. They have been able to set up an innovation center in Zurich. This center has been developed in coordination with Sunrise. They have already established themselves as one of the major players in mobile broadband. It is also a hub for European companies to work with each other and develop 5G solutions. The primary areas of interest would be a remote control, 8K broadcasting, cloud-powered VR and AR, machine vision, and cloud gaming, amongst others.

Developers can use this center to test their applications on live 5G networks before coming out with commercial solutions. Huawei news has already seen some significant innovations in real-life applications thanks to the use of 5G. For example, the use of 5G networks has helped farmers to optimize milk production from their cows and also track their cow’s feeding behavior. The 5G transmission has helped achieve data transmission in high resolution so that calls can be monitored in real-time.

Such real-world applications are expected to put 5G technology more at the forefront of making our lives better. What impact do you think Huawei will have in the future? Let us know in the comments!
